The Care Team stays in contact with people who can no longer attend church. We visit care centers and homebound members and send cards or make phone calls. Some members attend our meetings and others are auxiliary members who just serve a task when asked. If you would like to join the care team, mark the attendance card on Sunday morning or call the church office.
Prayer Shawl Ministry: Do you know someone who would be blessed by receiving a prayer shawl? First UMC has been sharing prayer shawls with people who are sick, injured, sorrowing, in need of the reassurance that the Lord cares for them or celebrating the arrival of a baby for nearly 12 years. In that time over 900 shawls have made their way to as far away as England, California and Vermont and as close as Lebanon Mercy Hospital! They have warmed, comforted, enfolded and embraced newborns and the aged. Each prayer shawl is bathed in prayer as a safe haven, a sacred place of security and well-being, so that the one who receives it will be cradled in hope, kept in joy, graced with peace and wrapped in love.If you would like a prayer shawl for a friend, relative or yourself, please call the office at 532- 7153 and we will make arrangements for one to be delivered.
